Novel Therapeutic Strategies for GIST: Targeting the Tumor and Treating the Whole Patient
ANETTE DUENSING: Dr. Duensing is Assistant Professor of Pathology at the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute, Hillman Cancer Center Research. She received her MD at the University of Hannover Medical School, Hannover, Germany. Dr. Duensing is also a member of the Cancer Therapeutics Program. She reminds GIST patients that she is a researcher, focusing especially on treatments that have revolutionized the treatment of GIST as well as Imatinib-resistant tumors. Her research typically focuses on novel treatment options and various screening strategies; however, she will share with us early details of a new research project on which she and her collaborators have been working. Dr. Duensing’s presentation will be “Novel Therapeutic Strategies for GIST: Targeting the Tumor and Treating the Whole Patient.”
