In recent years, researchers have identified specific gene mutations linked to (GIST).  However, 10 to 15 percent of adult GIST cases and most pediatric cases lack the documented tell-tale mutations, making identification and treatment more difficult  In a paper on published Dec. 14 2016, Dr. Jason Sicklick and colleagues discuss new gene fusions and mutations associated with this subset of GIST patients.  To view the article, click here.
